Getting your home painted can be a big decision, and you probably have some questions about the process. Here are our answers to common questions about painting your home. If your project involves GIB® fixing or GIB® stopping, visit our plasterboarding website for more information. Can’t find the answer to your question? Please contact us so we can help.
If we don’t supply the paint ourselves, we’re unable to take responsibility for delays due to paint supply or mistakes caused by incorrect materials. In addition, our 10- and 15- year guarantee does require that we supply the paint, so we can be certain it’s selected and applied correctly. If you’re still set on supplying your own paint, that’s okay – give us a call to talk about your project.
Preparation typically includes covering the surrounding area (including furniture) to protect it, removing paint that’s flaking, sanding the surface to be painted and making sure it’s clean and free of dust and dirt. We will also fill in small cracks or holes to prepare the surface for the undercoat.
Provided you’re happy with our estimate, we’ll book your job in to be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible. To find out more or arrange a quote, please contact us.
We often quote the cost of small jobs over the phone (some clients have emailed us photos to help with this). Provided you’re happy with the quote, we’ll book your job in so it can be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
During cold or damp weather, an additional day is required for the plaster to dry before the GIB® stopper can return to sand it.
Alternatively if you are not comfortable with leaving a key that’s just fine. We will communicate with you regarding times to return.
